Job Description for Part-time Worship Pastor

To plan, prepare and lead Graystone Church Walton in Sunday morning worship.

To recruit, equip and shepherd a core team of leaders who successfully implement the
stated vision for Graystone Church: Know God and Make God Known.

Ministry Objectives

- To lead Graystone Walton in worship on Sunday mornings.
- To identify, recruit, equip, lead and maintain leaders into the ministry of music/worship (vocalists, instrumentalists, production, etc…).
- Along with the creative team, plan and coordinate the Sunday Worship service and other Graystone events.
- To assist the Student Pastor in planning & recruiting for the Wednesday evening student ministry service.
- Attend all churchwide, ministry & campus staff meetings as planned.
- Support the mission and vision of Graystone Church as “one church.”


 - Maintain personal spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible study, stewardship/tithing)
- Befriend new attenders
- Personal ministry of evangelism and life on life discipleship
- Cultivate friendships with the unchurched
- Lead a small group


 A typical week of work for a part-time worker should involve 20 hours of church activities and
church related work.  Vacation and time off is given according to the Employee Handbook and needs to be approved by the Campus Pastor.

Note:  Ministry is not a “9-5 job” but a lifestyle.  Sometimes staff will be asked to serve and fulfill needs in areas outside of their ministry responsibilities.
